My parents and I drove up the Blue Ridge Parkway today. We couldn't help but capture each precious, beautiful moment. It is moments like these that humble me and bring my mind and body peace. Enjoy!

On Saturday, my best friend (Trisha Westfall from Typically Trish) and I visited Cave Ridge Vineyard for the Taste of Shenandoah. We tasted delicious local foods, enjoyed a performance from my dad, Randy Black, and strolled through the vineyard. Cave Ridge is absolutely beautiful, and we were so happy to visit it while we were on fall break. We also hiked to The Overlook during our weekend off. Be sure to check out that blog post, and then enjoy the photos below! :)
For fall break, my best friend (Trisha Westfall of Typically Trish) and I took a trip to the Shenandoah Valley. I'm from the small town of Broadway, Virginia, and I couldn't wait to show Trisha all that the Valley has to offer.
The area is especially beautiful in the fall: scenic views, crisp air, burnt orange leaves. We had to begin our weekend with a hike. My dad refers to this hike as "The Overlook" though most people don't know what it's official name is. It's in the George Washington National Forest, near New Market, and it branches off of the Wildflower Trail. It's a beautiful secret that ends in a breathtaking view of the Valley. The only semi-official reference I've seen to this trail is in this blog post. Side note: this isn't an easy one. It is fairly long, steep and rocky (but well worth it). Check out the photos below!
Fall in Virginia: it's one of my favorite times of year. That's why I created a bucket list for those of us who want to celebrate the fall season to the fullest! Below are 15 must-do activities for every Virginian. Enjoy! :)
