I was born on July 10th, 1997, which means that yesterday, I turned 20! For the big day, my parents invited my friends and family over for a sushi party. We spent all afternoon preparing sushi, sashimi, and Asian-style chicken wings. It was our first time making sushi at home, and I thought the experience was so fun (not to mention, the sushi was delicious). I'm so thankful for times like these, when I get to make memories with the people I love. I am blessed!
I hope you all enjoy some of the photos from our day down below. We made our sushi and sashimi with variations of cucumbers, avocados, shrimp, salmon, scallions, and tuna. We also prepared Sriracha mayo, wasabi mayo, wasabi paste, ginger, and soy sauce to garnish with. I would give you all exact recipes, but honestly, we kind of winged it! :) I haven't always enjoyed waking up early - in fact, I used to hate it - but during the past year, I've slowly become a morning person. Now I actually look forward to mornings, so in this post, I'm going to talk about my summer morning routine. If you're looking for a lifestyle change that will help you start every day off right, keep reading. I swear by this!
This year, my grandmother gifted our family a vacation to Smith Mountain Lake. My parents, siblings, nephews, niece, and I stayed in a big, beautiful lake house right on the water. We had a full week of kayaking, boating, tanning, swimming, tubing (or attempting to), shopping, and eating, but somehow, it ended up being one of the most relaxing vacations I've been on in a long time! There truly is nothing better than quality time with family. #BLESSED!
Below is a mix of photos my family and I took on my camera and our iPhones. Enjoy, and feel free to share. :) |
